Operations Update - February 10, 2026

Operational News
- At their January meeting, the Board of Commissioners approved additional unit hour funding for Acadian to staff the 3rd peak truck seven days a week. Previously that unit was only staffed on the four busiest days. The data supported the expanded need. The base deployment now includes five 24-hour units and three 12-hour units daily.
- In mid-January we submitted our DSHS provide license application and fee. Once that was processed, we uploaded a wealth of documents and plans for review. We are scheduled for our inspection later this month.
- We have identified our future billing contractor. We are in contract negotiations currently and expect to make an announcement soon.
Apparatus and Equipment
- Last week, we announced the arrival of Shop 12 – our first, gently used ambulance. We are busy stocking the unit, preparing for our licensing inspection next week. To that end, we have fully built out our supply room for disposable supplies and durable equipment.
- We received our first Chevy Tahoe and have outfitted it as a quick response unit. Four additional Tahoes were delivered last week and are scheduled for outfitting over the next two months. These will round out the non-ambulance response items (two command staff, two Field Supervisor units, and one spare).
- We have started delivering the customer-provided equipment to our ambulance manufacturer in anticipation of production starting in May. As of last week, they remain on schedule for delivery beginning in August.
- Last month, the Board of Commissioners approved a purchase recommendation for the new Zoll Zenix monitor. We evaluated both the Zenix and the LP35. Both are great devices and were remarkably close in price. The data capabilities of the Zoll system gave the Zenix a slight edge.
- Over the next eight weeks, we will be executing our capital start-up plan. As we make decisions on the “big ticket” items, we will make announcements on the web and social media. We are excited to be able to leverage current technology across the board, including vents, pumps, ultrasound and video laryngoscopy.
