Jimmy Young was appointed to the Bastrop County ESD 3 board in January 2026 , and his current term expires in December 2027. Jimmy is a healthcare leader with more than 30 years of experience in pediatric critical care, transport medicine, and program administration. He previously served as Transport Program Manager at Dell Children’s Medical Center, where he oversaw staffing, budgeting, performance reporting, and coordination of pediatric ground and air medical transport services in partnership with organizations including STAR Flight and AMR.

Before moving into program leadership, Jimmy worked as a Pediatric Intensive Care and Transport Nurse, serving as a clinical resource, educator, and team coordinator supporting critically ill pediatric patients and interfacility transport operations. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the development of pediatric critical care transport services at Children’s Hospital of Austin.

He is recognized for his collaborative leadership style, operational expertise, and longstanding commitment to patient safety and high-quality pediatric care.
